Reading books can give someone a serious case of the wishes, as in damn, I wish I had that! This week’s T5W celebrates fictional items I wish I had. BUT! Before I start, let me just say that I could technically crush this blog challenge and achieve world-domination status just using Harry Potter. We all know that if I had the invisibility cloak, time turner, Hermione’s bag, Harry’s broom, and a working wand the world would be my playground. However, the more I thought about it, the more it felt like cheating, so to spice it up I shall give you my top five “not Harry Potter related” fictional items:
#1 The Batcave and all it’s contents.
Why? Three Reasons:
- Tons of gadgets! From bat mobiles to super computers, Bruce’s secret layer is full of everything I would need to be a superhero… or have one hell of a Halloween party.
- When I say this place has it all, did I mention is has a giant penny and a life-sized robotic T-Rex that protects the place? Just imagine the story time potential here. Edwina the Dinosaur Who Didn’t Know She was Extinct could reach another level.
- Most importantly, last I checked it came with this sweet Robin:
Let’s go exploring JGL ;D
#2 Green Lantern’s Power Ring
It isn’t my preferred jewelry, but it is the most powerful accessory known to mankind. The only limit to it’s ability is the ring bearer’s imagination, and force of will. Have I mentioned that I am children’s librarian who has been battle tested through years of Summer Reading Events? My will and imagination are limitless.
#3 BOGO Lightsabers
I know it’s cliche to add this, but lightsabers are cool. Plus, my husband would divorce me if I had cart blanch on mystical items and didn’t pop in a Star Wars one. However, I’m pretending these guys come in packs of two, because this is my blog and I can do that! Mwahahahaha!
This one’s for you husband!
#4 Bill and Ted’s Phone Booth
Before the Tardis made it’s comeback, all children of the 80/90’s wanted to cruise through time and space in Bill and Ted’s phone booth. I know it isn’t the best time travel device, but that nostalgia though. That. Nostalgia.
#5 Wolverine’s Healing Power
I’m mostly a DC girl, but there has always been a soft spot in my hart for Wolverine. He get’s a lickin’ and keeps on tickin’. If I could have his healing power…well, Librarian Super Spy, here I come!
And there you have it, my top five!
As always and before I go, let me take a second to give a shout out to Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube), for creating Top 5 Wednesdays (T5W) where bloggers far and wide tackle top fives. If you want to learn more or join this jazzy group of bloggers, click here.
